On 26 August 2017, MLAC Institute had the privilege of sharing a day of mindfulness with the attendees of A Day of Mindfulness, Compassion and Gratitude. Valued guests, supporters and friends set aside a day to pause, look inwardly, and just be. Focusing on the present, the day was spent doing meditative activities to reflect and to express oneself, with talks by Dr. Honey Carandang, followed by Dr. Joanna Herrera, to provide invaluable insight on gratitude and self-compassion. Indeed, it gave meaning and color to Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings that “the present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.”
